Prior to I6a6a6964d2b5ad47ae5ea9eb11af9b6373ce2141 — `sudo nix
upgrade-nix` would perform direct store access.
This ensured a certain number of desireable properties for upgrading the
Lix binary itself.
We re-introduce direct store access for upgrading Lix binaries.
Fixes #1060.

Installation
On Linux and macOS the easiest way to install Lix is to run the following shell command (as a user other than root):
$ curl -sSf -L https://install.lix.systems/lix | sh -s -- install
For systems that already have a Nix implementation installed, such as NixOS systems, read our install page
