waiting for them to finish leaves us prone to deadlocking, e.g. if some active transfers is blocked and hasn't been destroyed before our thread was asked to exit. aborting transfers is the safer option here; even if we cause use after frees we'll at least have a crash, not hang forever. Installation
On Linux and macOS the easiest way to install Lix is to run the following shell command (as a user other than root):
$ curl -sSf -L https://install.lix.systems/lix | sh -s -- install
For systems that already have a Nix implementation installed, such as NixOS systems, read our install page
