while these two are currently safe using synchronous mutexes we can't easily guarantee this forever. since we have async mutexes too now we may as well use them; the overhead they incur is small enough that we can just ignore it here. this can be revisited later, when necessary. Installation
On Linux and macOS the easiest way to install Lix is to run the following shell command (as a user other than root):
$ curl -sSf -L https://install.lix.systems/lix | sh -s -- install
For systems that already have a Nix implementation installed, such as NixOS systems, read our install page
