give legacy commands their program name and c++-converted argv directly instead of passing on the (argc, argv) pair untouched. all are required to process these things, and all of them do it in exactly the same way. we can also remove a few old helpers only used to make this less awful. Installation
On Linux and macOS the easiest way to install Lix is to run the following shell command (as a user other than root):
$ curl -sSf -L https://install.lix.systems/lix | sh -s -- install
