This creates new subclasses of LocalStore for each OS to include platform-specific functionality. Currently this just includes garbage collector roots but it could be extended to sandboxing as well. In order to make sure that the generic LocalStore is not accidentally constructed, its constructor is protected. A Fallback is provided which implements no functionality except constructors. Nix
Nix is a powerful package manager for Linux and other Unix systems that makes package management reliable and reproducible. Please refer to the Nix manual for more details.
Installation
On Linux and macOS the easiest way to install Nix is to run the following shell command (as a user other than root):
$ curl -L https://nixos.org/nix/install | sh
